"Loma" in Spanish means "hill," which perfectly reflects the topography of this beautiful peninsula that wraps around San Diego Bay. From the hilltop you can see far south into the land of Mexico. There are many spacious and expensive homes in Point Loma. From the hill it is hard to have a view that would not inspire you. Sights of Mexico, the bay, and Downtown San Diego at sunset are simply breathtaking. Because the terrain of Point Loma is so hilly, like stadium seating in a movie theater, many homes have some combination of sights. The majority of the homes on the peninsula were erected in the latter part of the 20th century, with condos and apartments making up 33% of the total consumer real estate in Point Loma.
